Hey everyone! especially hello to all the new people on the mailing list I met playing at Taste last weekend....
First of all...thankyou for your brilliant response to the Set It Free pre-order.....For those of you who don't know my new album "Set It Free" is coming out in April, but if you are one of the first 250 people to pre-order your copy now through The Jont Shop you get:
* The album delivered by hand to you anywhere in mainland UK between jan and march 2010
* A free gig in your house, when I deliver it, if you can bring more than 30 people
* And the free 5-track download album "And In Dreams" of out-takes from the Set It Free recording sessions
Well, so far, I am delighted to say that a lot of you have already pre-ordered....I really appreciate this as this gives Unlit Records much needed money which is all going towards the release and promotion of the new album, and also sets my touring schedule for next year....so if you are a follower of my music, please take the time to pre-order...it will really help me get this record out...and also obviously there is the game of CD sharing that the new album doubles up as (read more on my website) which you can then start playing as soon as I've delivered your CD! (some of you have been having a few problems with paypal....we have added another payment vehicle - Google Checkout - to the site which should help....so if you've tried once and it didn't work, it should now be sorted...)
Secondly, the last Unlit of the year is happening this Friday 11th December at Pete's flat in Brixton. Pete put on a memorable Unlit earlier this year featuring Wallis Bird....this Friday's will feature the usual wide-range of performers (Poet Salena Godden; The Mighty Roars; Carrie Tree; Micah) and as ever it will be free and open to anyone who wants to come and enjoy a set of unamplified live performance in someone's house....just bring your own booze and your respect for Pete's place. Email Lee@unlitrecords.com for the address. Come any time from 8pm. Facebook event is here if you want to invite friends!
Also, some new gigs have been added to my Myspace page including one this coming Monday 14th December as part of the wonderful Jonathan Jeramiah's free London Residency at the Cat & Mutton in Hackney, so come down for a great night!
Lastly, and definitely not least, I have been asked back on Dermot O'leary's Saturday Radio Two show this Saturday....Yay! It's on from 3 til 6pm and me and some of the members of my band, The Infinite Possibility, will be playing a live version of new single Enjoy The Good Times and also a cover of Paul Mcartney's Pipes Of Peace! It's gonna be fun....Dermot has always been a big supporter of my music and Unlit so I am really glad to be going back and telling the Radio Two audience all about the new album and my brand new concept of CD sharing....you can listen online here and it'll be on the iplayer afterwards.
So...see you Friday I hope for a christmas Unlit knees up! and if not there, then maybe round your house when I deliver your copy of "Set It Free"!
ps. Unlit fan Leigh McClelland has recorded a couple of clips from the Brick Lane Unlit festival in Brick Lane in the summer...check them out here and here. Plus here's another song from the last Unlit at Vita's place:
